What is two-factor authentication?
Two-factor authentication is a security process that provides an additional layer of protection for your account beyond just a username and password. This is done by requiring users to provide an additional factor/method to verify their identity.
What additional factor/method does Suralink use?
Suralink utilizes mobile authentication using authenticator apps on your mobile device. Suralink supports Google Authenticator, LastPass, Microsoft, Duo, and Authy.
How to set up two-factor authentication via Google Authenticator
- Log in to Suralink and select My Account in the footer of the page
- On the left side of the page, select “Two-factor”
- Search in the App store (iPhone) or Play Store (Android) for “Google Authenticator” and select to install the app. Currently, the logo looks like this.
- Follow any on-screen instructions to set up Google Authenticator on your device.
- Click “Scan a QR code” so the app is ready to pair with Suralink.
- In Suralink, click “Next Step.”
- Scan the QR code from your Suralink page.
- Google Authenticator will now have a 6 digit code.
- Back in Suralink, click “Next Step”
- Enter the code that Google Authenticator is generating into the box and click “Complete authentication”
- You will receive a green message telling you the authenticator was set up successfully.
- When logging into Suralink, you will now be prompted to provide a 6 digit passcode after entering your username and password. Enter the code generated by the authenticator.
